I had a lovely time at church on Sunday. Easter is always a good time to reflect on the Lords love and the ultimate sacrifice he paid . The sermon was about fruitfulness and was based on John 15:16.
The Lord asks us to bear fruit that may abide but the 'How' sometimes eludes us. Jesus says we should remain in him that we may bear fruit and this includes building a relation ship with him through fellowship prayer and the study of the word. We however render these actions powerless when we do not act on the word we have received. You can enjoy the word, even say you are blessed by the word or feel convicted but that is not the end.
Sometimes in all honesty you may not even feel regret for old actions or in actions when you hear the word. That is when we have to pray for true repentance and act in the Grace we already have to combat sin and to be a vessel for His good use and the Lord who promises to never leave us will give us the strength.
God Bless

Elegant at home to out in minutes.
Looking great and elegant at home needn't be expensive, time consuming or difficult. A simple jersey maxi dress is very comfortable and practical. Throw on a kimono for added elegance and voila! I love these kimonos and they are so easy to make yourself ( I will be posting a DIY on that soon). I'm willing to bet any husband would love to come home to his wife looking dressed like this over tee and a jogging bottom. What I also love about this outfit is that with a few quick accessories (and some sunshine!) you can pop out to run your errands. The crocheted beanie cap sort of tones down the outfit making it more casual. If wearing a kimono outside is not for you, just exchange it for a denim or any other casual jacket. And if hubby surprises with a summer evening date, no need to change, just put on some heels, jewelry and you are good to go.

Stylish Sunday-Putting it together
So here is a follow up to the set I created. The weather was quite cold so the denim jacket came in handy.
How many times have you said you have nothing to wear?
Discovering Pinterest I have had so much inspiration on putting what I have together. I even downsized to a capsule wardrobe which has made me more creative with what I have.
Word of caution! whether its getting a quick inspiration online or creating your own set like I did above, the idea should be to work with what you have and not to make yourself feel bad or desire what you don't have or what is momentarily beyond your reach.
The Proverbs 31 woman is not wasteful but is able to create beauty from limited resources.

I love love love maxi skirts. They are so feminine, definitely modest and with just the slightest of touches you have a very elegant outfit. You do have to be slightly careful though because it is easy to get it wrong and look a bit frumpy. Here is how to mostly get it right.
1. Get a good fit: Make sure your skirt fits nicely and isn't too big or too tight It should just comfortably fit your skim your hips unless its a waist gathered skirt(they shouldn't be too big either).
2. Get the length right it depends on the style but you mostly cant go wrong when the hem just skims the ankle.
3.Pair it right: It is imperative that the top you pair it with is well fitting and of the right length. Not beyond the widest part of you hips is a good rule of thumb unless you accessories it with a belt on top, which is a really stunning look. Tucking in your top and adding a belt also works really well.
4. Dress it down, layer up: Its very easy to look over dressed in a maxi skirt, so if that's not your intention add a denim or leather jacket or vest, a cardigan or casual blazer.
How do you love to wear your maxi skirt? Leave a comment and don't forget to like, follow and pin!

About Me
I have always loved anything to do with design, decor, and craft. Growing up, I would spend hours sketching, painting and designing clothes and accessories. Coming from a creative family I would also help my mum decorate our church, watch in admiration as she made novelty cakes and happily model the beautiful items of clothing she sewed for me herself. Years later I found myself putting away these skills in order to concentrate on developing 'real' skills and qualifications.
I married an amazing man and when my first little girl came along I was overjoyed but it felt like a whirlwind hit our lives as I struggled to keep home and care for this new addition. Thankfully the wonderful blogging community was such a big help and I spent hours learning from the lovely blogging mamas. Little by little routine and order crept back into our home.
Two and half years later brought our second bundle of joy and we were super excited but it felt like an earthquake hit us as the task of looking after two so young was not easy but with Gods help and the blogging world again recovery was swift and a sense of order is being restored.
However I felt something was missing from our home and my life. After much soul searching I realised I had swapped beauty and creativity for functionality. Using practicality, necessary frugality, and lack of time as an excuse, I had not been able to express that part of me that rejoiced in beauty.
Presently, Looking round our home, I would say it was mostly organised, and as clean as I could manage with two little ones but it wasn't the beautiful home I had always dreamed of. Glancing at my image in the mirror, clad in sweatpants and an oversize T-shirt, I wasn't sure I was too happy with that look.
I love decor and fashion but battle with how such interests might conflict with being modest, simple and content...but deep down I know modesty doesn't mean't mean frumpy or that I should bury my God given talents, talent God has given every woman to appreciate and create beauty. Don't get me wrong I do make an effort to look good when I go out but what about at home for my husband and my children. What about creating a beautiful sanctuary for us to enjoy as a family not just for visitors to admire.

This morning during my quiet time, I soaked in the wisdom of proverbs 31 and felt inspired once again to begin to create and to beautify, confident that it was a ministry onto the Lord and to my family as well as an example to my little girls.
So here my journey begins, join me as I share the things I love, seek to create a beautiful home on a tight budget, discover and express my personal style and most importantly aim to develop inner beauty.
God bless
Anne
